Our philosophy is to support — not replace — a resident’s own abilities. We assist with what residents cannot do safely on their own, while encouraging what they can. This approach preserves dignity, slows functional decline, and helps residents maintain a sense of autonomy. Our staff receives ongoing training in person-centered care techniques that respect individual preferences and cultural backgrounds.

Preserving Independence Within Care

Our certified caregivers assist with bathing and personal hygiene (shower, sponge bath, or tub based on preference and safety), grooming and dressing assistance with attention to personal style, safe transfer techniques for residents with mobility limitations, incontinence care with complete dignity and discretion, oral hygiene and dental care routines, skin care and routine wound monitoring, and self-image enhancement and personal appearance support. All personal care is documented in each resident’s individualized care plan.

How do you handle residents who are resistant to personal care?

We approach resistance with patience, flexibility, and person-centered techniques. We adapt timing, approach, and communication style to each individual. For residents with dementia, we use specific de-escalation and redirection strategies.

Are your caregivers state-certified?

Yes. All personal care is delivered by state-certified CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants) and home care aides who meet Washington State DSHS training and certification requirements.
