About Us
Our Family, Caring for Yours
A Timeline of Care
5401 Norpoint Way NE, Tacoma, WA 98422 | 615 66th Ave E, Tacoma, WA 98424
We built Harbor View because, after more than fifteen years of professional caregiving, Julia knew exactly what exceptional senior care looks like — and she was ready to create it without compromise.
The Beginning
Chapter One — The Foundation
A Family With a Calling to Serve
Long before Harbor View existed, caring for older adults was simply part of who we are. We spent years visiting seniors in our community, offering companionship, and showing up wherever we could be of service. Those were not tasks — they were relationships. They were the seed of everything that followed.
15+ Years
Chapter Two — Fifteen Years of Professional Caregiving

Over more than fifteen years, Julia worked across licensed skilled nursing facilities and private family homes, providing direct care through the full spectrum of aging — from chronic disease management to advanced dementia and end-of-life support. She carried every lesson forward as the foundation for the home she would one day build.

Chapter Three — 2019: Harbor View Opens Its Doors
Harbor View Adult Family Home Is Born
In 2019, the vision became a home. We found a beautiful property in Northeast Tacoma, overlooking Commencement Bay near Dash Point State Park, and invested fully in its transformation — a complete remodel designed for safety, comfort, dignity, and beauty. Harbor View opened as a licensed Washington State adult family home, serving up to six residents with 24/7 personalised care and individualised care planning.
What We Built
- Private bedrooms with half-baths | Master suite with full shower
- Second-floor patio with panoramic Puget Sound views
- Sunlit elevated dining area | Piano in the living room
- 24/7 care for up to six residents with individual care plans
"Every morning begins with birdsong. Every evening ends with a sunset over Puget Sound. That is simply life at Harbor View."
Our Team
Chapter Four — The Family & Team Behind the Home
Leadership, Care & Daily Life
Julia — Owner, General Manager & Lead Caregiver
Sets the standard for care quality, staff training, and resident experience across both homes
As owner and general manager, Julia sets the tone for everything — from clinical care standards to the atmosphere families feel when they first walk through the door. She is present, accessible, and deeply invested in every resident's wellbeing. Residents know her by name within hours of arriving. That combination of clinical expertise and genuine personal warmth defines Harbor View.
Emma — Caregiver Manager
Leads the day-to-day caregiving team | Oversees care routines, staff coordination, and the daily rhythm of life at Harbor View
Emma manages our caregiving team with the same dedication and warmth that defines this home. She oversees daily care routines, coordinates our staff, and ensures Julia's standard of care is upheld across every shift. She is also a deeply nurturing presence for residents — her home-cooked meals, prepared daily from scratch, are one of the most cherished parts of life at Harbor View.
Ilya — Activities Coordinator & Caregiver
Designs resident activity programming | Part-time caregiver | Home operations & maintenance
Ilya is the operational backbone of Harbor View and one of its most energetic daily presences. He designs and leads all resident activities, works directly as a part-time caregiver, and ensures the home continues to reflect the care and pride we bring to everything we do.
Our Wider Care Team
Beyond our founding family, Harbor View is supported by a carefully selected team of professional, background-checked caregivers who fully share our values. We prioritise staff continuity — because consistency of care and the trust it builds are among the most important things we offer our residents.
Daily Activities
- Gentle exercises | Indoor golf | Music therapy & piano sing-alongs
- Bingo, puzzles & social activities | Gardening & outdoor time
- Creative crafts | Cooking activities | Emma's daily home-cooked meals

Chapter Five — 2024: Growing to Meet the Need
Rainier Vista Farm AFH Opens
Five years of building trust with families across Pierce County and South King County had grown our reputation — and our waitlist. Rather than expand Harbor View beyond its six-resident capacity, we opened a second home. Rainier Vista Farm Adult Family Home at 615 66th Ave E, Tacoma, operates under the same ownership, leadership, standards, and philosophy as Harbor View. It is not an expansion. It is the same family with more capacity to serve.
"Two homes. One family. One standard of care."
Today
Today — Our Promise to Every Family
Trusted Senior Care Across Pierce County
Today, Harbor View and Rainier Vista Farm serve families from Tacoma, Federal Way, Lakewood, Puyallup, University Place, Gig Harbor, and beyond. Every resident receives an individualised care plan, consistent staffing, 24/7 supervision, and the daily dignity of living in a genuine home — not a facility.
"Every senior who walks through our doors deserves to be known by name, respected as an individual, supported with clinical skill, and surrounded by people who genuinely care. That is the promise Harbor View was built on — and the promise we renew every single day."
We warmly invite you to visit, meet our team, and experience Harbor View for yourself. We would be honoured to welcome your family into ours.
